Join us for the Gulf South Rising rally at the Citi Operations Center in San Antonio, where we’ll tell Citibank to stop financing fossil fuel and petrochemical industries! The Gulf South is rising to demand a better future for ourselves and our children.
Everyday, the oil, gas, and chemical industry makes billions of dollars in profits at our expense. Here in Texas, ordinary people are living with sweltering temperatures, catastrophic storms, and never-ending droughts, while big corporations continue polluting our air and water. Our families are getting sicker and sicker from plastics and petrochemicals, while CEOs get richer and richer from our land and labor. Black, Indigenous, and People of Color are living on the fence lines of toxic plants, while our government turns a blind eye to environmental racism. But all over the world, community leaders are rising up to say, ‘We need clean air, not another billionaire!’
During the Summer of Heat on Wall Street in 2024, hundreds of thousands of people came together in New York City to demand that big banks like Citi stop funding dirty industry. This month, we are bringing the heat down to Texas, where Citibank has provided billions of dollars of financing for polluting companies which are devastating our land and people.
