Austin Roots and Wings Festival-A Celebration of Trees, Pollinators, and All Creatures
The Roots & Wings Festival is an annual community-wide celebration of trees, pollinators, and all creatures.
The Festival is dedicated to celebrating nature in our neighborhoods. We embrace the fundamental concept that we are all connected to each other and to our local ecosystem. Growing these connections creates a stronger, more resilient and healthy community.
The Roots & Wings Festival is not one event, it is many, and it is led by the community in neighborhoods all over Austin. Community events feature celebrations of our urban forest ecosystem (trees, butterflies, plants, fungi, soil health, pollinators, birds, bats, and more)!
In 2023, the Roots & Wings Festival helped to support over 129 community-led events!
We are thrilled to support qualifying Community Events. The application period closes August 1st and applicants are notified in mid-August if they’ve been approved to participate as a Roots & Wings Festival event. We’ll also notify event hosts in mid-August that have asked for funding if they’ve been approved and by how much.cele
