La desaceleración consiste en estimular un cambio hacia una vida, unas comunidades y una cultura más sanas. Our Happening events calendar highlights lots of fun and critical (some critical and fun) San Antonio and South Texas happenings each month. For those about growing a better world, we work to direct you quickly to the most potentially transformative meetings, climate actions, skillshares, and gatherings to help facilitate the development of ever more resilient networks of common care.

Film Screening: Spaces of Exception

Spaces of Exception investigates and juxtaposes the struggles, communities, and spaces of the American Indian reservation and the Palestinian refugee camp. The film was shot from 2014 to 2017 in the U.S., Lebanon, and the West Bank.
Directed by Matt Peterson and Malek Rasamny, it is an attempt to understand the significance of the land—its memory and divisions—and the conditions for life, community, and sovereignty.
Following the screening, there will be an in-person panel discussion with co-directors Matt Peterson and Malek Rasamny. Admission is free and open to the community.
Parking: Park in the garage near San Pedro Ave; the first floor fills up quickly, but there are usually spots on the upper levels. From the garage, walk past the Oppenheimer Academic Center and Early Learning Center to the Nursing and Allied Health (NAHC) Building, Room 218/219. You can also use student lots or any open spaces, but please avoid reserved spaces.
