Event Details

February’s Climate Disaster that was Winter Storm Uri did untold damage and claimed a still-unknown number of lives across Texas when the state’s power grid came near to total collapse. Clearly, the Texas Public Utility Commission wasn’t taking care of the people of Texas. In San Antonio, where we own our own utility, CPS Energy, our City Council and the CPS Board of Trustees are supposed to serve as the PUC for our City. Yet we didn’t fare any better. What’s wrong with this arrangement? Through a public energy planning process known as integrated resource planning we can start to fix this inequitable energy nightmare. Join us to discuss problems with how the City of San Antonio and CPS Energy do business and explore how we can start to fix our energy issues as a community.
