CPS Energy Rate Advisory Committee

The CPS Energy Rate Advisory Committee started discussing rate design in early 2023 after more than a year discussing power generation (they choose the most gas-intensive option for coal retirement).

On the March 2023 agenda:

• Understanding problems the committee is addressing
• Affordability Discount Program
• Rate Decoupling
• Rate Relief

RAC’s Mission Statement:

“Members of the RAC will devote the necessary time and energy to learn about the utility business and the rate design function in order to understand and provide thoughtful input and perspectives to CPS Energy Management and Board of Trustees on rate structure, rate design, proposed rate increases and generation planning issues.”
