Earth2Hot2Handle: Climate Action

This is the event and its hyperlink: TEDxYouth@SanAntonio: Earth2Hot2Handle. The purpose of the event is to invite a multidisciplinary group of 6 speakers to present on climate and environmental topics relating to the San Antonio/Texas community. Along with the speakers, we plan to invite local environmental organizations and companies to table at our Idea Lab where they can display employment opportunities and create community dialogue. The target audience is students (middle school through college) and educators at all levels. The event is scheduled for April 15th, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. CST. Accessibility is a big deal to us, so in-person tickets will be free accompanied by a virtual streaming option for anyone to view online, though in-person attendees will get a free lunch too! 

This event is impactful for two reasons:

1. This event exposes students to environmental issues in their communities through the speakers but also highlights avenues to make a difference through the community organizations at the Idea Lab.
2. This event will bolster bonds within the San Antonio environmental community by bringing together NPOs, companies, and environmental groups to the same place at the same time.
