On the agenda is a long-expected presentation to the SA Climate Ready Technical & Community Advisory Committee to prepare them to vote on a proposed subcommittee to examine how to help further decarbonize City-owned CPS Energy generation fleet. (JK Spruce, our last remaining coal plant, makes up half of all industrial climate pollution in Bexar County.) Speakers include CPS Energy’s head of climate response and a Sierra Club Beyond Coal rep.
Meeting details: The SA Climate Ready Technical & Community Advisory Committee will hold its regular meeting in the Municipal Plaza B Room beginning at 4:00 PM. Once convened, the SA Climate Ready Technical & Community Advisory Committee will take up the following items no sooner than the designated times.
- Discussion and possible action on the creation of a Decarbonization Subcommittee. [Douglas Melnick, Chief Sustainability Officer]
