Event Details

Come learn about the Watermaster 101 Program and it’s mission, scope, and when it started. Participants will also learn how the program impacts river flows. Al Segovia, a 12-year Watermaster, will discuss the program and answer questions. The program will be offered in the Headwaters Sanctuary. Attendance limited to 20. The admission is free but donations will support for guide stipends.

About Segovia: Al Segovia is a lifelong resident of San Antonio. After serving in the Air Force, he attended and graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos. He was employed at USAA in San Antonio. In 1995, Mr. Segovia joined the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality, TCEQ. He was promoted to South Texas Watermaster in 2000. He oversaw 7 river basins and their major tributaries in 50 counties in South Central Texas. In 2005, Mr. Segovia implemented a Watermaster Program on the Concho River in San Angelo that encompassed an additional 8 counties. Retiring in 2012, Mr. Segovia now enjoys golf and spending time with his grandchildren.
