Support Deceleration: Locally Rooted & 100% Reader Funded

To grow deep and lasting community around the principle of environmental justice takes partnership. We believe it requires storytelling, reporting, and rigorous analysis, too. That’s where Deceleration comes in. We have a vision for building this community through a period of big transitions across the greater San Antonio and South Texas bioregion and watersheds.

We invite you to join our family by committing to a monthly donation via Patreon as a “Basebuilder,” “Ally,” or “Decelerant” ($1, $5, or $20 per month, respectively). Or select your own amount. Those who support through Patreon will also receive exclusive content about how we are moving this work forward with video updates and more. You can also send a one-time gift via PayPal. It all matters.

Thanks to our Patrons we were able to raise enough during this last COVID year to file for nonprofit status, paperwork that has been approved by the state of Texas and now pending with the IRS. However, we are today 100-percent reader supported and expect that won’t change after we get our nonprofit certification.

In short, we’d rather partner with y’all than advertisers or deep-pocketed grantors.

Most critical to the success of Deceleration is being shared, being known by those who share our vision. While others have the benefit of advertising, we rely on every one of our readers to move this work forward by sharing it … with friends, family, circles big and small. That’s how movements grow.

Every day we are putting a little bit more into this work. We hope it shows. Let us know how we are doing by dropping us a line. We are always interested to know how we can be of use and those things that give you joy.
