In celebration of Camp Cicada–now coming up on its 7th week lodged in the side of an ICE administrative hub on San Antonio’s Northeast side–Abolish ICE SATX is organizing Fiesta de Resistencia/Festival of Resistance on Friday, August 31st, 2018 from 2pm until 11pm.
The festival aims to raise funds for and ongoing awareness of the cases of Andrés Mancilla Sergio “Mapache” Salazar, two folks from SA recently detained and (in the case of Andres) deported overnight, ostensibly as political retaliation for their affiliation with the encampment.
In addition to fundraising activities, a vigil, and a noise demo, the festival will include music, DJs, poets, art, dancing, and food.
