Peace & Dignity Journeys 2024 runners were welcomed into San Pedro Springs Park in San Antonio, Texas, on July 28, 2024. Carrying sacred staffs gathered from tribes beginning in Alaska and all the way to Texas, organizers and runners met in celebration and ceremony to discuss the significance of this inter-hemispheric Indigenous prayer run as they moved toward Mexico. PDJ is a seven-month journey dedicated to building Indigenous solidarity in which runners travel across the continents connecting with tribes and Indigenous communities in ceremony beginning in both Fairbanks, Alaska, and Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. This year’s runners will ultimately converge in El Cuaca, Colombia. — Greg Harman
