Keep Us Decelerating! We are Locally Rooted & Reader Supported

To grow deep and lasting community around the principle of environmental justice takes partnership. We believe it requires storytelling, reporting, and rigorous analysis, too. That’s where Deceleration comes in. As a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, we have a vision for building this community through a period of big transitions across the greater San Antonio and South Texas bioregion and watersheds.

We invite you to join our family by committing to a monthly donation via Patreon as a “Basebuilder,” “Ally,” or “Decelerant” ($1, $5, or $20 per month, respectively). Or select your own amount. Those who support through Patreon will also receive exclusive content about how we are moving this work forward with video updates and more. You can also send a one-time or recurring gift via PayPal. It all matters.

You can send checks and other correspondence to:

Thanks to our patrons we were able to raise enough in 2020 to file for nonprofit status, which was approved by the IRS in 2021.

Our Tax ID is 86-1931064.

Most critical to the success of Deceleration is being seen, being known by those who share our vision. We rely on every one of our readers to move this work forward by sharing it … with friends, family, circles big and small. That’s how movements grow.

Every day we are putting a little bit more into this work. We hope it shows. Let us know how we are doing by dropping us a line. We are always interested to know how we can be of use and those things that give you joy.

Unable to support financially? Care to volunteer? You can also support Deceleration by signing up for our newsletter and subscribing to our podcast on iTunes or Sticher. Maybe leave a review.

As always…
