Black Brilliance: The Story of the Sutton Family
November 19, 2024 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free

The evening will begin with a presentation led by Sylvia Reyna, Texana/Genealogy Special Collections Librarian, that will provide valuable strategies for family historians. Learn how to gather, preserve, and organize your family’s cherished memories, including documents and photographs. Bring your questions and enthusiasm for a hands-on experience in safeguarding your family’s history!
Then, we welcome honored guests Charles Andrews, Annlil Sutton Driver, and Alexander Carver Sutton Jr. to share the remarkable journey of their family, the Suttons. We will learn how the Suttons not only influenced our understanding of local, Black history but also about their lasting legacy on education, civil rights, politics, community organizing, and more in San Antonio and beyond.
Don’t miss this opportunity to honor the Suttons and enhance your own family legacy!
