Community Hearing: Mercury in Lavaca Bay

Join San Antonio Bay Estuarine Waterkeeper for a presentation on mercury research being conducted in Lavaca Bay by marine toxicologist Dr. Jessica Dutton, an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Texas State University. You will learn about mercury concentrations in sediment, fishes, and shellfishes in the Superfund site and how they compare to other areas of the Matagorda Bay system. Panelists will also discuss the potential impacts of the proposed dredging project. This free presentation will be held at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:00 p.m., at the Bauer Community Center, 2300 TX-35, Port Lavaca, TX 77979. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in Spanish and Vietnamese.

La Bahía de Lavaca y la Bahía de Matagorda albergan varias especies comerciales y recreativas de peces y crustáceos.
