¡No Pasarán! Texas: The Forefront of US Fascism

January 18 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Free

In August, Mujeres Marcharán hosted a discussion exploring how the corporate takeover of US elections has moved the country to a more fascistic form where “democracy is just a fig leaf justifying what has essentially become corporate rule.” The argument put forth from that event is that a broad unity of individuals and organizations is necessary to break the undemocratic rule of the rich!

On January 18, we continue that discussion, but turn our focus to Texas – long at the forefront of US fascism. This has been the case from it’s founding as a country to preserve the slave-holding rights of its elite, through ruthless indigenous genocide and into the past century-plus of petroleum and war industry rule.

Join us for this important discussion! It is more important than ever to forge a unity which can confront the emboldened fascist forces of Texas who find friends/protectors in Washington and lockstep compliance in San Antonio leaders.

As we gear up for International Women’s Day on March 8th we must understand how the foundation of this state reverberates to what we are living today- political, economically, socially and psychologically.

See you there! DM us with any questions!
