Uncommon Courage: Showing up for LGBTQIA community during hostile times

At this event you will learn about the importance of coalition building, showing up for each other and how to show up and show up for the LGBTQIA community.

Overview of the program

  • History of movements throughout the US history as context
  • When we show up for others – what happens when coalition building is able to create meaningful changes
  • An overview of the current state of equality – why is it so hostile – From end of Privacy to the policing of our bodies, the overreaching policies of the Small Government Party
  • The need of building coalitions and showing up for queer folks – Queer issues are not separated from other issues, how housing, abortion, healthcare affect the LGBTQ community
  • Tangible actions that folks can take or commit to – Lege day. expansion of NDO

The event will have a 1.5 hour presentation as well as a 30 minute Q/A
