Voice of La Paloma: A Tribute to Beatriz Llamas

Enjoy a night filled with music and song! Beatríz Llamas was a world renowned ranchera singer who was highly regarded for her contribution to Tejano music. She was the first Tejana to sing at Madison Square Garden and was inducted into the Tejano Music Hall of Fame in 1995. Late in life, Beatríz was brought out of retirement to join the beloved musical quartet known as Las Tesoros de San Antonio brought together by the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center.
To honor the roots of the talent competitions that nurtured Llamas’ early singing career, the event will begin with an afternoon singing competition for community members from ages 10 and up. The competition will then be followed by a concert emceed by Blanca Rosa Rodríguez featuring the finalists singing with the Mariachi Los Parientes.
Doors open @6:30PM. Event is free and open to the public
