Join 'Of the Field' for Land Arts Creation

This session draws from the work of renowned land artist, Richard Long. Long is a British sculptor who is most well-known for his walking paths. Engaging more with the process than with the final outcome, Long’s practice turns walking into a meditative and intentional act, calling attention to the ephemerality of movement, the (only slightly) more lasting effect our movement has on the Earth, and the overall impermanence of experiences, objects, and ourselves. Participants will work in collaboration with the landscape to create their own ephemeral pieces and will debrief the experience of doing so in a group discussion.
